Keep Alive server monitoring... what do you want?
I'm currently working on an updated version of my server and network monitoring software "keep-alive"(Keep Alive Website).
The primary goal of the new version, when available, will be for the monitoring and alerting section to run as a background service, negating the need to have the console running all the time. This means you can leave it running on a server instead of your PC, and have it begin monitoring as soon as the server comes up (perhaps after a power failure etc) without you needing to go log in to it.
The new version will also store monitor information in a database file for easier access and reporting. Currently, the test build supports monitoring the same stuff as the existing version; ping, web, smtp, pop3, ms sql, mysql, ftp, custom and windows services. If you have any ideas for things to monitor, or any other useful features, then please get in touch. Also, if you are happy to play around with something half finished, get in touch as any other test users are always handy!
